Gift Aid is a scheme run by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) to allow charities to recover the tax paid on most donations we receive. This means we receive extra money from these donations, at no extra cost to our supporters. You can find out more about Gift Aid on the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) website.
Pact can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate. We can do this as long as you make the donation from your own funds and have paid at least the basic rate of UK Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax during the tax year. We cannot claim Gift Aid on donations made through Parish or group collections.
If your circumstances change and you no longer pay enough tax, it’s important to tell us. You can email us at supporterrelations@prisonadvice.org.uk to remove yourself from our Gift Aid claim process at anytime. It’s important to tell us as soon as possible if your circumstances change because if you don't tell us and we continue claiming Gift Aid, you will need to pay the difference back to HMRC.
