Poet Roger McGough shares a poem in support of Pact and our Prisoners' Sunday appeal
‘Everything Touches’
Roger McGough, one of Britain's best-loved poets and current presenter of BBC Radio 4’s ‘Poetry Please', has shared a poem in support of Pact and our Prisoners' Sunday appeal. The poem, Everything Touches, was originally commissioned as a modern hymn, and a unique recording of the poem set to music was premiered during Pact's broadcast on National Prison Radio earlier this year. We are now delighted to be able to share the poem in full, read by Roger McGough himself, as part of Prisoners' Sunday.
What is Prisoners’ Sunday?
Prisoners’ Sunday - this year on 11th October - is the national day of prayer and action for prisoners and their dependents as marked by the Catholic Church and across the Christian denominations. It is a day to direct our thoughts and prayers to prisoners, their families and children. Prisoners’ Sunday is the time to reflect on how we as individuals, as a Church and as a community are serving those affected by imprisonment.
