Supporting children affected by imprisonment

Every child is different, and how they respond to the imprisonment of a family member will vary from child to child and case to case. They may experience feelings of loss, shock, anger and guilt. They may also face practical difficulties such as loss of income and moving home.

This short guide offers an overview of the emotional and practical challenges associated with parental imprisonment.
