A Pact student placement offers passionate and dedicated individuals the chance to make a real difference in the lives of those affected by imprisonment. You will help us deliver vital services while developing your skills and experience in a criminal justice setting.
Pact placements provide students with the opportunity to work closely with people impacted by imprisonment - students must use their problem-solving skills to address complex issues around the individuals, their families, and their communities at large.
Every case is different and requires a student who can not only adapt their knowledge to fit the context and provide tailored work plans but can lead and influence our service users to want to do better for themselves and their families.
We want students on long-term placements who are committed, reliable and are looking to gain valuable first-hand work experience supporting multiple areas of Pact's Family Services.

We know how hard it is to find work experience in a field you love. Our student placement roles are mainly available within our Family Services work, however, please reach out and let us know if there is a different role you are interested in - we have in the past had placements in other roles such as HR.
As a national charity, we have roles across England and Wales.
You will find all available roles on our volunteering platform
You can find out more about placements and the application process in our student placement guide. You can also contact us at studentplacement@prisonadvice.org.uk

I think about all the people I've helped, the cases I've worked on, and the family days I've done over a year. I just could not have imagined doing all that in my wildest dreams. It's incredible; it exceeded all my expectations.
